Working Notes
Constituent Glasses: Copper Blue Transparent and White Opalescent
May develop a subtly rippled or wrinkled surface upon slumping. The constituent glasses have disparate viscosities, which can lead to surface qualities that have haziness and raised textures where the colors meet, especially in a slump firing. Cap with clear to obtain more uniform, smooth textures in slumped works.
Is more prone to develop a wispy, thin, dark gray metallic film at lower temperatures than constituent glass Copper Blue 001246. We have observed this film develop when firing between 1000 – 1400°F/537 – 760°C. It can appear in any firing in this temperature range and may develop in the first firing or subsequent firings such as a slump.
After firing 002146 to a full fuse or hotter, remove used separator products such as Primer and Thinfire thoroughly to avoid possible contamination with sulfur-bearing glasses in a subsequent firing.
Hand-rolled and controlled for mix consistency, with the unique patterning of true art glass. Suitable for kilnforming, stained glass, and mosaics.
Fusible / Bullseye-compatible.
